Job Description – Financial Manager / Chief Accountant (International Exposure – Hong Kong, Vietnam & China)
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly capable Financial Manager / Chief Accountant with strong international exposure to take full ownership of the Hong Kong entity’s accounting and reporting, while providing oversight and guidance to finance teams in Vietnam and China. The role ensures accounting accuracy, strong internal controls, timely closings, intercompany reconciliation, AR/AP management, budgeting & forecasting, bank reconciliation, and full compliance with audit requirements across all jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Full Ownership of Hong Kong (HK) Accounting
• Manage all bookkeeping, general ledger, and financial reporting for the Hong Kong entity.
• Ensure all transactions comply with HKFRS/IFRS.
• Prepare monthly management reports, annual financial statements, and audit schedules.
• Coordinate directly with auditors, tax agents, and HK authorities.
2. Oversight of Vietnam & China Finance
• Review Vietnam and China monthly financial statements for accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure alignment with group accounting policies and closing timelines.
• Provide guidance to local accountants/controllers on technical matters, tax issues, and reporting.
• Validate tax filings, vendor/customer reconciliations, and statutory compliance.
• Support finance process improvements across all entities.
3. Monthly Closing & Group Reporting
• Lead consolidated monthly closing across HK, VN, and CN.
• Prepare group management accounts, KPI dashboards, and variance analysis.
• Ensure timely reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
4. Intercompany Transactions & Reconciliations
• Manage all intercompany invoicing, settlements, and eliminations.
• Monitor cost allocations and transfer-pricing compliance.
• Maintain proper documentation for cross-border transactions.
5. Accounts Receivable & Payable
• Monitor AR aging and oversee follow-up with customers on overdue balances.
• Supervise AP process, vendor reconciliations, and payment scheduling.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of cash disbursements.
6. Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning
• Lead yearly budget preparation and regular forecasts.
• Analyze variances against plan, identify risks and opportunities.
• Provide financial insights to management for decision-making.
7. Treasury & Banking
• Oversee daily bank reconciliations and cash-flow management.
• Manage multi-currency banking operations and FX needs.
• Prepare liquidity planning and ensure adequate cash coverage.
8. Audit, Compliance & Tax
• Prepare all audit documentation for Hong Kong and support VN/CN audit processes.
• Ensure timely filing of HK profits tax and oversee compliance of VN/CN tax filings (VAT, CIT, PIT).
• Maintain internal controls, risk management, and documentation standards required for external audits.
9. Financial Systems & Process Improvement
• Enhance ERP usage (NetSuite preferred) and ensure data quality across all entities.
• Implement financial process improvements and automation where possible.
• Standardize financial procedures across HK, VN, and CN.
Requirements
Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA/ACCA (or equivalent) preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience managing accounting in international and multi-entity environments.
• Hands-on experience with Hong Kong accounting and reporting is essential.
• Experience supervising or working with Vietnam and/or China entities is a strong advantage.
Technical Skills
• Solid knowledge of HKFRS/IFRS.
• Familiarity with VAS and Chinese accounting/tax regulations is a plus.
• Strong understanding of intercompany, consolidation, and audit processes.
• ERP experience (NetSuite highly preferred), strong Excel, and analytical skills.
